    Zak!

Thanks so much for this tutorial on flourishes. Just yesterday, I went to the Apple store for a one on one appointment to learn exactly this lesson. We were able to get a workable solution at my session with apple but your techniques worked fantastic! It made total sense and gave me the lots of flexibility. I plan to bring this solution to the apple store someday. I was so caught up in the lesson I stayed up late here in Sacramento California just following your instructions. The work you do affects even people like me across the world. Thanks for solving problems and empowering people.

    Hi Zak!

Thank you for sharing your knowledge. You said that there is no way of getting Illustrator layers to Motion. To save time you could do a work-around.

    • Export your Illustrator-file with layers as a Photoshop file (with layers) from the export-menue.
You will lose the scalability but have all the layers.

There are just some things to take care of. See layersmagazine: http://www.layersmagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2606

    All the best from Vienna,
    Rene

Thanks for posting a great tip. I suppose this is a workaround, however the point of taking the illustrator document to Motion is to keep it Vector. This as not possible as yet. However your post will enable people to use layers from illustrator as bitmap.

By the way maybe next week, Tuesday we will have a little bit more luck as Final Cut Studio 3 is suppose to come out. Who know what new features Motion 4 will have.

Many thanks for posting this link.
