Great tutorial. Really exciting can’t wait to play with textures in motion and use the 3d text ideas with some of my illustrations.Keep them coming its such a great site with great animation work and tutorials. Can you do one on masking ? in motion.
Yeas I can Jane. I would love to make tutorial were I will be using excessive masking techniques.
Thanks for all you hard work Zak! It’s amazing to see what you can acomplish in Motion. And to think this is all for free!!!! Thak you very much for taking the time to help all us newbies :)
Thanks Doctor D. I am very grateful you have noticed that what I am doing here is free, also I do spend 90% of my free time trying to make this site work for creative community, I hope it is appreciated. Please check my eyelearn forum for Motion, link is under community section….
To be honest, great time and effort man, but you don’t half pay way to much attention to putting in SO much boring detail of what EXACT parameters should be used for each setting, getting the color exact is not that important in a tutorial. Jesus, it’s painful….just get on with it!! also, try sounding a bit more cheery :-) this is fun right?
Sorry to be honest, but if I aint, who will be?
Nope, I could not bare it any longer, I had to stop watching at the text color point, how long does it take to explain text and color?!? I fast forwarded hoping you would just get on with it, but it seems to me you just like the sound of your own voice.
Man, I appreciate your time trying to teach, but please try and not be so longwinded in your explanations, it really is very painfully frustrating to watch all the way through. I’ve got a headache and still don’t really understand it any more than before I endured 20 minutes of this droning on and on and on and on, phew.
Oh the relief, try matching this guys style, it’s a tonic it really is. And I’ve learnt something.
Apologies for coming across harsh in my above posts, it’s just the way I am.
HI There,
I am aware that I am not the best, please be patient, I am making emphasis on colour as it is important, it will benefit you and your understanding of layer styles and texturing. Please note this is free. I am not a corporation, just enthusiast who likes to share things.
I hope this helps……
It sure does Zak, keep up the great work
Thanks Man. I will try m best….
Impressive, thorough, and very inspiring. I enjoy the pace, because if the tutorials went faster, I’d be constantly rewinding. Thank you for the prodigious effort!
Thanks Toronto Guy, I am please you approve of what I do. I am new to this and I am learning as go along. Teaching in the classroom is always different. Video Tutorials are not easy to do….-)
man, this is great! I am having a hard time finding content like this for Motion 3 on the net… no luck! I am a beginner in Motion 3 and there are no tutorials like this that I can find on the net… this is my only place, and I thank the sensei for this! Thank you for taking your time and doing this for us, for everyone.
Hi Carlitos, I am happy you like embryo. Me and my very good friend Prisca who is a great web developer are doing our best to make this site number one for Apple Motion content. We hope you will spread the word and we also hope this will become your new home.
Once again THANK YOU.
I really enjoy how you create on the fly. (This one seemed like you had some pre-made settings.) But all is good.
I also am thankful that you build projects that are current, stylish, and usable in this day.
Thank you for your time! I look forward to learn as many different things Motion has to offer.
I had to follow some settings as I wanted to have a similar design as the original never fear animation. I have to say that it really takes a lot to recreate something you do on the fly in Apple Motion or any other program for that matter.
Nice, I’ve been subscribed for a while but have not watched any tutorials yet. This is awesome.
Good to see you on embryo. Thanks and I look forward making more tutorials
Hi, great vids! thanks for all the hard work.
Can I suggest that you briefly show the finished piece at the beginning of the videos? It’d be nice to see the end result without having to wait for the entire movie to download.
thanks
rob
Hi Rob. Will do no problem. Although I always make the animations first, then I make video tutorials for it. But yes I will do it from now on. Thanks for the comments. And welcome to Embryo.
thanks so much – personally, I really dig your style and the way you tinker with things – I can relate to the experimental touches, like we’re looking over your shoulder as you work. Not to mention that ideas start flooding in as if there were an idea emitter placed in my frontal lobe! Thanks again.
I am glad you approve of what I do. I might not be the best deliverer of video tutorials, however I think I manage to show you people how to composite animations.
I haven’t used motion before, I was having a great time following along with this tutorial until I accidentally typed “never fear” while I wasn’t in the text field and totally messed up the project somehow! the active camera view is completely white now… I have no idea what I did, I wonder if you know how to get it back! otherwise, it was really cool to see how you played with the textures, thanks for the info!
Difficult to say. Although you might try to get a previous version of the project. Look in your hard disk/documents/motion documents. if you have saved the project you probably have another version. try this for a fix. otherwise send me a file I will look into it for you.
