video tutorial – transient 3d available [Apple Motion3]

Transient 3D Video Tutorial
Available now…

Finally I had time to create transient 3d tutorial. I know that has taken me a long time, but as you know I am one man operation.

I also often overestimate my spare time, which seem to be less and less these days.

There are few things I would like to point out to you all. First you will note that the background image is missing from this animation. This is because I have already done this part in transient 2d video tutorial, so for those who would like to see how i created the tutorial please refer to transient 2d.

As always if you want to download project file with my sound project file use this link.

Finally I have done it. I feel sense of relief, I also feel I have managed to deliver this one better than I have delivered any tutorial so far. I have to say delivering video tutorials is a skill which I am still learning. Anyway enjoy it….. ;-)

    Hey Zak

Thanks for the Tutorial. To answer your question, the reason that I am going with Lightwave is because I felt like I could get more for my money at this point in time. I used a student discount and got it for around $200!

Also… thanks for that tip about the blur… It really helped to smooth everything out.

No Problem. Glad to help. Always use blur when you have edges on the text distorting and you have no other option.

    Quick question:

I can edit the points of my paint / bezier strokes in the x and y dimensions, but I would love to be able to move any given point in the X, Y, AND Z axes. Is there ANY way at all to do this?

Is there a specific TYPE of stroke I need to use?

    Thanks for any help.

    MS

If you are in 3d mode (if you have camera), try going to top view and add your points. I hope this helps. I know you can edit x and y the only way to edit in z is to draw the line from the top view.

Actually that didn’t work. Thanks for the suggestion though, Zak.

Mark Spencer gave me a work-around on the Apple forums.

Paint can only move on a 2D plane. However, a particle emitter can use all three axes. So, a particle system with the speed set to 0 can mimic a paint stroke while using all axes.

    Kinda cool. :)

Well Done. I am pleased you have found the way to do it. I have learned something new from you. Thanks very much and thanks to Mark Spencer.
