I think you are going to like this animation, I have used amazing Noise Industries plugin and Motype to produce some of the effects in this animation…
I have tried to create an effect that simulates refraction of the object behind the ice. Watch what happens as the letters appear from one side to the other side of the ice.

Also the images I have used to make this animation were downloaded from cgtextures (under the ice section).
In addition I have used some cool camera movements, lights and few other behaviors and filters available in Motion.

good stuff. Trying to recreate it before you put out the tutorial… but without the Motype… Gonna be a while before I get that plugin.
The beauty of this animation is in the refracting of the letters behind the ice. That was something I needed to thinker with to get it right. Look Motype have 15 day trial plugin you can download. I think it is around £99. It is a good generator to have.
