“Best Colour Harmonies in Apple Motion” Video Tutorial
Apple Motion
Video Tutorial …

I wanted to make this tutorial to help you all create better colour harmonies in your designs, being that it is motion graphic animation or illustration…..

This is something I wanted to do for a long time. As always I did not have the time to make all video tutorials immediately. Anyway we all know how important is to get your colours in your digital work in a good place. This is why in this Video tutorial I explore the use of few different pieces of the software that will enable you to do just this. OK, for some of you this is a walk in the park, but believe me for some of you it would be almost like discovering Holy Grail.
The websites you should consider are as follows:
Mondrianum (Free software that expands functionality of Apple Colour Picker)
Adobe Kuler Online program which will enable you to create colour harmonies.
Hex Colour Picker for OS X (Software which will enable you to use Hex Colour Codes in Apple Colour Picker.
Kuler Dashboard Widget (This will enable you to copy the HEX codes and past them into Apple Motion).
Please take a second and consider how much time i have used to bring you all of the video tutorials for free.

Hey Zak,
Thanks for putting out these tips on color pickers. It’s great that your throw out tips like this in addition to your tutorials. I feel like I have my own personal teacher. As a non graphic artists I found this very cool and useful. This weekend I am going to do some tie dyeing with some kids and I am going to pick colors harmonies using Kuler (at least as close as I can with the colors I have). Oh yeah, and I’ll try to do better color work in my motion graphics too!
Thanks.
tinking about colour in your work is very important. The more you pay attention to colour the better your work will be. I ussualy spend a of of time before I make anything thinking about what colours I should use.
