“This article is for people who are new to Compressor, or people who need a refresher course, it’s a basic Compressor 3.5 article. We use Compressor to convert, or transcode our source video to different formats for editing purposes, and encode video to codecs like MPEG 2 for SD DVDs or H.264 for web distribution.”

Found in the DVD – Compressor section.

Best Application for Backing up your Final Cut Studio 3 Preferences

Comments (0)

It is not a secret that Final Cut Studio 3  Applications are not the the most stable of applications. Very often we need to delete the preferences of Motion, Final Cut etc in order to make the applications work the way they should. Saying this I very often delete the preferences of Apple Motion when I see that my performance of Apple Motion is suffering or when Motion starts to crash frequently. Anyway this application can help you do all that in a click of a button.

Topher Welsh and VisualFXtuts.com

TOPHER WELSH, THE MAN OF THE HOUR……

Picture 3 copy

In this post I just wanted to point out a website that I have been using quite a lot in the last year or so. This website is VisualFXtuts.com run by Topher Welsh. The reason for my constant re-visit to this website is to find resources to learn from as much as informing myself about what is current in the visual effects industry.

Well, I can honestly say that I do not know of any website apart of Creative Cow which have so many different links to tutorials on visual effects and generally about design. What is apparent to me is that Topher works very hard and when I say he works very hard I mean it. I can see this by frequent updates to VisualFXtuts.com which by the way are done almost every day.  The website is well maintained, and when you visit the VisualFXtuts.com for the first time make sure that you have lots of spare time, as it will completely overwhelm you with the shear volume of information presented.

The website is easy to navigate and if you are like me interested in visual effects you will undoubtedly learn a great deal. Via VisualFXtuts.com you will be able to find websites dedicated to design that you might not ordinarily find that easy anywhere else. I believe that because of such vast number of posts and information presented you will be able to become much more aware of what is happening in the industry. This in turn will also enable you to comparatively see were you work is creatively at the current time.

So to sum it all up, I am very much in favor of VisualFXtuts.com and will continue to be as VisualFXtuts.com enabled me to re-examine my work in motion graphic field.

I have found via Twitter that you have written article for AETuts called “Who’s Who in the After Effects World”. Reading this article impressed me very much, I sure have learned a lot from it. So keep it coming, and thank you for all of your efforts and hard work.
